Luigi Piradello dies.An Italian writer and dramatist. He has received the Nobel Prize in  Literature in 1934. His works include about 40 plays and 100 short stories. He is one of the  representative of  The Theatre of the Absurd, combining fantasy and illusion with reality.

 

December 10th, 1948

The United Nations General Assembly adopts the Universal Declaration fo Human  Rights.

 

 

December 10th, 1963

Giorgos Seferis, one of the greatest Greek poets, receives the Nobel Prize in Literature.

 

 

 

December 10th, 1991

The Maastricht Treaty. The Treaty of European Union, is created, replacing the EEC with  the European Union and it was signed by its members.
