Winston Churchill is born. He was a British politician and leader of the United Kingdom  during the Second World War. He is the only British prime minister to have received the  Nobel  Prize in Literature and the first person who has been recognized as an honorary  citizen of the United States.

Oscar Fingal O’ Flahertie Wills Wilde (Oscar Wilde) is born.  He was a famous Irish writer  and poet. Perhaps his most well known work is The Picture of Dorian Gray.
