The Elisabeth era begins. Queen Mary I of England dies and is succeeded by her half-sister Elisabeth I   of  England. She was sometimes called the Virgin Queen Gloriana or the Good Queen Bess.Elisabeth     era is known for the flourishing of the english drama, with works of Shakespeare and Marlowe.

 

 

November 17th, 1970

Douglas Engelbart gets the patent for the first computer mouse.

 

 

November 17th, 1973

The Athens Polytechnic Uprising. A massive demostration of pepople rejecting the Greek military junda of 1967-1974. The uprisisng started in November 14th and ended in November 17th after a series of events and a tank crashing through the gates of the polytechnic University.

 

November 17th, 1983

The Zapatista Army of National Liberation is founded.

 

 

November 17th, 1990

Fungedake, that is part of the Mount Unzen volcanic complex, Japan, becomes active again      and erupts.
